An exciting thrill of any visit to McConnell Springs is an up close encounter with the animals that call the park home. Every time you walk the trails you can potentially find new animals as they look for food in the forest or get a drink of water from the springs. It is not uncommon to see forest animals such as White Tail Deer, Raccoon, Red Fox, Grey Squirrel, and Mink or to see a snake slither across the trails.
At the wetland pond water turtles are a very popular attraction for children and adults alike. Be sure to bring binoculars so that you can spot some of the 200+ species of birds that have been recorded at the park or to take a close look at our new beehive. In the evening as the sun sets you can spot bats as they come out to hunt for the night. The sighting of the animals at McConnell Springs always provide memories for park visitors.
